The Arensky Piano Trio was formed in Fall of 2005 as a tribute to the lesser known, yet highly masterful, pianist and Russian Romantic composer Anton Stepanovich Arensky (July 12, 1861 – February 25, 1906). A pupil of Nikolay Rimsky-Korsakov, Arensky’s works often reflect the influence of other composers, particularly that of Tchaikovsky. Arensky taught at the Moscow Conservatory where his students included Sergei Rachmaninov and Alexander Scriabin.

In addition to performing the works of the well-known masters, the trio aims to bring the music of Anton Arensky to greater awareness and appreciation, always with the goal of delivering satisfying, heartfelt musical performances.

Although together as an ensemble only six months, in Spring, 2006, the Arensky Piano Trio won Third Prize in the 2nd International Chamber Music Ensemble Competition held in Boston, Massachusetts.
